hyrax222 Posted July 19, 2021 Share #5 Posted July 19, 2021 I used to shoot over my knees in the 80's, cross canyon, with the same pistol, maybe 200-300 yards. The stumps were burnt black bullseyes against spring green weeds. There was a resounding thump when connecting!
varifleman Posted December 1, 2021 Author Share #6 Posted December 1, 2021 Got the Colt Archive letter and my pistol was 1 of 1350 shipped to the Commanding Officer Ordnance Depot Camp Cody Deming NM on 18 October 1918. Camp Cody, located on the northwest side of Deming, NM, was an army training camp for the National Guard units from North and South Dakota, Nebraska, Minnesota, and Iowa. Soldiers received basic training there before leaving for the war in France.
