Scottz63 Posted July 17, 2021 Share #1 Posted July 17, 2021 Picked this up at my local antiques mall this morning. Stamped inside twice is "Gagian 1944" I think, hard to read. Looks to have shoulder straps. Part of a pack set-up? What do I have? Thanks, Scott
Steve B. Posted July 17, 2021 Share #2 Posted July 17, 2021 You have a post-war item made by a surplus store that sewed two GP bags together to make a backpack/book bag/tote bag. These are not uncommon, and although they are made of US GI components, they are not a military issue item as found. The stamps you found are the name of the original manufacturer of the GP bags and the year they were manufactured.
Scottz63 Posted July 17, 2021 Author Share #3 Posted July 17, 2021 Hmm... That explains the double markings inside and out. Very interesting. Thanks!
