Flashlarue Posted July 15, 2021 Share #1 Posted July 15, 2021 I was given this mortar round today and I am wondering what the numbers on it mean. First just above the fins is 1WH-1-37-67-60MM-M2 and second on the base is MA 2-34 2-68 M32. I'm guessing the round is from 1967 and the primer is from 1968. So what do the codes mean? robinb Posted July 15, 2021 Share #2 Posted July 15, 2021 It's the bottom half of a 60mm illumination round.
opus5150 Posted July 15, 2021 Share #3 Posted July 15, 2021 The numbers are lot/date/type codes used during this period. Here's a link to a doc you may find informative -https://www.alternatewars.com/BBOW/Markings/MM2597_Interpreting_Ammunition_Markings.pdf
