Nine Myths About The Tuskegee Airmen

Recently, I became interested in the 332nd Fighter Group and the 99th Fighter Squadron.  The other night I watch the movie Tuskegee Airmen.  During a search on the Internet I came across this interesting read.  The 99th F.S. never lost a bomber.  False.  They lost 27.  The Tuskegee Airmen sunk a German Destroyer.  Kind of False.  The 99th was requested for bomber escorts.  Unproven.  I'm not here to knock these guys.  What they did was incredible but the folk lore takes off and the stories go on unchecked.  Here is a link to a really interesting read.  It's not too lengthy but definitely worth your time.  Enjoy.
