Ever need help and not know who to contact? Not a problem anymore! All members have access to a great little Forum tool called the REPORT BUTTON. We've put together an online "instruction manual" of sorts that introduces this fabulous feature and teaches us how to responsibly use the button to more easily resolve issues that require staff attention. No extensions to add to your device or download! Help is right around the corner, since the answer to your problem is a built-in component of our website software that can be quickly accessed by every member on every page.

The REPORT BUTTON will make it much easier to alert Mods/Admins to the presence of issues which require staff attention. Using it, in turn, relieves stress on the staff (who can't be everywhere at once). Think of it like your County Engineer who can't be driving every road all the time looking for potholes. If the public doesn't let him know where they are, many of these driving snares will take too long to be fixed or even go unnoticed until they are the size of craters that can swallow a Sherman tank. All forums need help like this, especially all-volunteer forums like ours. Whether your issue on here seems small or large, please don't hesitate to let staff members know that they need to bring a bucket and shovel to fill that hole. A simple request for staff to fix an error or misinformation in a post is just as important to the smooth running of this forum as the ability to stop arguing and personal attacks before the thread reaches a point of no-return.

Hitting the REPORT BUTTON does not put a negative strike on your account or the other person's. (The only thing that affects a member's standing on this forum is the member's own behaviour!) And don't worry. Comments about another member's responsible use of the button will not be tolerated. Besides, only staff members can actually see who or what was reported. We need everyone's help to make this a valuable tool and rid our site of those cracks and holes in the road.

Please read this post (see linked post below) for details.

This heretofore unappreciated Forum Tool will help us all keep USMF a place where we want to spend what little free time we have. Let's all learn to use it wisely. More frequent use of this button will enable the Mods to quickly step in and fix the issues. A little action by more people will make a bigger impact on the smooth running of our forum than arguing or ignoring issues that can easily be nipped in the bud. Using the REPORT BUTTON is a positive step forward for all of us!
