Miniature Unit Patches- What are their purpose?

I picked up a very small (1.5") 101st Division patch along with the similar sized USMA shield for the uniform collar.

The West Point patch's tiny size makes sense, but what uniform would use this? I can't think of any, so I'm assuming this is more for civilian clothes or veteran's groups.

I've never seen any, but these two so small. I certainly wouldn't mind picking up a few more. I like oddities and miniatures, so this ticks several boxes for me. Does anyone else have these? Surely others exist.

There were many WW II DIs embr on cloth.

Post war, some tend to be for ascot wear, some continued to be for DIs.   Yours appear to be the former.

The small 101st patches were worn sewn to a white scarf made from parachute silk. I believe these date from the very early post war/occupation era.
