cutiger83 Posted June 24, 2021 Share #9 Posted June 24, 2021 Bodes, Thank you for posting the pictures. Very nice uniform. I found her picture in my WASP book. She was in Class 44-4 from Milwaukee, WI. ...Kat
digi-shots Posted June 24, 2021 Share #10 Posted June 24, 2021 Very nice! I do have a question on the wings... I’ve never noticed a “copyright” logo on the back. Is this correct?
Steve D. Posted June 26, 2021 Author Share #11 Posted June 26, 2021 The wings are reproductions.
Bodes Posted June 26, 2021 Share #12 Posted June 26, 2021 56 minutes ago, Steve D. said: The wings are reproductions. The seller stated in his description that the insignia was on it when he obtained it...I know that doesn't make them real, so I will leave that to those more knowledgeable than myself when it comes to WASP wings.....Bodes
Steve D. Posted June 26, 2021 Author Share #13 Posted June 26, 2021 This is one of the uniforms in my colletion. I have two sets of the dress uniform and 2 sets of the flight uniform.
Steve D. Posted June 26, 2021 Author Share #14 Posted June 26, 2021 I have 5 original Josten wings and 3 came straight from the original owners. The set of wings on the ebay auction may have come with the uniform, but they are not WWII Josten wings. Josten did not use a copy right symbol in WWII. Steve D. Posted June 26, 2021 Author Share #15 Posted June 26, 2021 Here is a pic of the back of an original pair. Sorry that it's upside down!
Mr.Jerry Posted June 29, 2021 Share #16 Posted June 29, 2021 Interesting- I never knew that. WASP wing badge was copyrighted by the Order of Fifinella (OOF) 6 December 1978. Copyright was later registered with the WASP WWII when the OOF was dissolved.
