Hello all.

Im in the process of buying a piece of equipment that is painted OD green, apparently military surplus.

Odd thing is it has an oxygen tank mounted to the top of it. The seller has set a higher price than I would like due to it having this and Im trying to figure out if there is any value to it before going forward.

Pics of tank, this is on a 20T hydraulic press.

Any insight on this greatly appreciated.

Seems odd to have an airforce oxygen tank for breathing as part of a 20 Ton hydaulic press ?

Was it attached in any way to the press or is it just sitting in the space ?

I dont know a thing about the press but it sure dont seem to be correct ?

Maybe some one stuck it up there because it fits in that space.. ???  So they can charge more ?

Meaning if its not attached to it by hose or anything whats it for?

Not original equipment to the press. Whatever its for ?

Relatively little value in the tank ($15-20?).  If it was a WWII tank it might hold some value, but there are probably tons of these things kicking around old bases.  It's probably from the 60s-70s.

Thanks for the replys guys.

The mount is riveted onto the frame so it doesnt appear to be an add on.

I originally thought it might be part of an air over oil system to operate the press, but its not connected to anything.

The press has a few indications of being a millsurp, but yeah, the tank is baffling as it looks like its meant to be there for whatever reason.
