Sorry everyone but I didn’t get the picture but here is the EBAY Item#224493134032.

What are some thoughts of the Son Tay Raider patch in this lot?

All information appreciated.

No Bueno for me.

All of the other patches are modern computer guided machine sewn. The STR has was to many threads and done in Vietnamese hand sewn style. Granted there are some that were done in VN tailor shops but more than not the originals were well machine made in 2-3 styles. You have to remember the Son Tay Raiders weren't even on the ground in South Viet Nam they launched from Thailand and returned there. The patch was designed later. Granted there may have been Raiders who returned later to VN or had contacts copy the patch from a Viet tailor shop. Also enterprising patch collectors of the day could have things made as well by Vietnamese tailors. With out a chain of custody or "history" of the patch and owner the hand made ones can be subjective.

I have another as well but not attributed.

you can find them with the red field embroidered or the red done in twill.

The one in the first photo is a copy.

The Vietnamese did not sew with that thick of thread, looks 1980's made.
