Franky Posted June 12, 2021 Share #1 Posted June 12, 2021 A few weeks back I saw this VF-19 Satan's kitten patch on ebay. It is 6 inch in diameter made of wool felt and af the back is cheesecloth backing. I am sure it is an original patch and was very surprised that no one offered it. The seller relist it and 6 hours before it ended no bids on them. So I made a low bit of $ 55 and wow win it. Normally I collect patches from the fiftys so is this a WWII patch or post one? Jeffro Posted June 13, 2021 Share #2 Posted June 13, 2021 Great score Franky. I definitely missed that one! The green colors and insignia design (aside from the squadron designation on the patch) are WW2, but I’m just guessing here…I think the patch is likely late war or immediately after the war. I think they went with a semicircular blue twill background in the early 1950s and Korean War. It’s a beautiful patch. Let me know if it doesn’t fit your 1950s USN patch collection! 😉 Jeffro
Jeffro Posted June 13, 2021 Share #3 Posted June 13, 2021 Walika has the WW2 version sans unit designation in his collection at the top of this forum category. Jeffro
