Good afternoon,

I recently purchased this grenade from the son of a korean war vet at a garage sale. I was wondering if you guys could let me know if this is real.

Also, do you know if this could be wwii production? Any information or opinions are appreciated!

Thank you,

Blue paint denotes it is a training grenade. Im not sure how to read the spoon info. But it is a earlier spoon.

The fuze/spoon appears to be an M10A3 which is quite common on those WW2 trainers

wow thanks for the info! I guess it’s a real one and not a reproduction. Any idea how much these are worth? Thank you!

looks like a nice WW2 era trainer. Some were even converted from standard grenades.

thanks for the information!

I see these around, depending on the condition of course, from around $125 to $150.

sounds great thank you for your help! I’m glad I was able to purchase it from the son of the veteran that told me some stories about his experience as a rear echelon soldier in Korea.

Have great night!

Early trainer. Notice the pin ( not the pull pin) that half the pin is visible, where it contacts the spoon, it is flat on both ends. Later mods incorporated a half moon raised section the spoon contacted limiting it’s travel if gripped to tightly.

If the hole in the bottom was threaded, it could have been a deactivated grenade. It appears that the hole is cast smooth indicating it was made as a training grenade. WW2 reenactors are looking for the type of fuze you have.
