I picked up these items and wondering what the one this is for and then the web belt has this metal hanger on it?  What are their uses?  Many thanks for any information!

The metal loop is actually called a "saber ring" and is a holder for the saber. What you therefore have is an M1912 pistol belt and therefore WW1 vintage. The other item is a a strap designed for use with the canteen (M-1941) and is to make any conventional canteen like the M-1917 Canteen - a cavalry item.

It is a belt designed to hold 5 carriers for the T5 mine and was to be used for the invasion of Japan which we all know never pushed through. It was made during the late war years 1945 but did not see action.

Hello armysoldierant1944,

Many thanks for your information.  As for the trouser belt for the T5 mine, is it a trouser belt that was suppose to be worn or was this a strap for the T5 mines?  I did a search for T5 mines on the web and could not find anything?  You help is much appreciated!

Regards,

Drew
