What do you think ? Do you recognize the sole ? best regards

numbersix Posted June 10, 2021 Share #4 Posted June 10, 2021 Hello, I believe these are French made in the 1950s, and, although based on the US boot, are not the same. Specifically, the rivets are not found on the US boot as far as I know. I used to have a pair of these model French boots, the sole was different on mine but may have have been replacements. I don't think the soles on your boots are US either. Hope this helps.
French44 Posted June 10, 2021 Author Share #5 Posted June 10, 2021 Hello and thanks for your answer :) If you talk about the BMJA 52, French boots from Algerian war production, It’s completelty different, I have some in my collection . The leather is very thick in BJMA 52, the leather is not like that… French made have a commando type sole, it is not the case in mine. French do not have double rivets neither. that is why I was talking about a US made because French issues boots are not like that. But It could be a Private Purchase in France from a US Px … maybe ? Or maybe not…?
numbersix Posted June 10, 2021 Share #6 Posted June 10, 2021 It was quite a long time ago when I had the boots so I may well be thinking of the ones you mention. The other similarity was that the gaiter part was unlined like in your images, whereas the US buckle boots all seem to be lined. I should add that I may be wrong about rivets on US buckle boots as, looking at the various US boots imaged on the forums, some do appear to have a rivet at the bottom of the laces. I have to say I am out of my depth now and will head back to the shallow end.
