What era is this from?

 

3ft between cords

 

5ft from outer edge to mid diagonal seam

 

6x10ft as it lays

I am not a parachute expert, but I would say it was early 1940’s.  Here is a piece of canopy that is dated 1942 for comparison. And a piece that is dated 1953.  I’m not sure when the thread colors changed from tan to white.  This is also a great site for information on parachutes.

Very interesting stuff. I have a few pieces from some AB vets from WW2 but never paid any attention to the thread colors until now....
