otter42 Posted June 6, 2021 Share #1 Posted June 6, 2021 Bought this yesterday and wondered about the color. Looks like same color as WWII USMC uniforms. But maybe it's foreign, any help would be great. No tags left. Thanks Ken
Dave T Posted June 6, 2021 Share #2 Posted June 6, 2021 Looks like a good USMC blanket. Is it USMC stitched or blank?
otter42 Posted June 7, 2021 Author Share #3 Posted June 7, 2021 Couldn't find any tags or stitching. Is this WWII or earlier? Thanks.
doyler Posted June 7, 2021 Share #4 Posted June 7, 2021 I would say WW2 era. The WW1 era blankets have a very different chainstitch USMC and wool color is different.. Early or pre WW2 chainstitch is often seen and a block stitch also. Sometime during WW2 the USMC stitched letters were dropped.
