What sort of value does all the info add to the medal? This is some great research to go along with the medal...more than we could probably get with the NPRC open, in fact. Personal opinion about the value...it's a really stellar medal itself, as far as condition is concerned, with the original box, also in great shape. That, to me, would be worth around $350-$400 alone. With the research, the fact that he was awarded the CdeG for heroism in action (surprised there's no Silver Star...or it might be MIA)...I'd price it out at around $500-$550. KurtA Posted June 10, 2021 Share #52 Posted June 10, 2021 And, he was in the 2nd Division - that is a big plus with collectors. I was surprised it doesn’t have the unique style brooch typically associated with this contract. They must have switched over at some point from using the earlier style split wrap brooch (what you see on the 1932 era PH’s) that this one has. it’s a really great medal
usaf70 Posted June 11, 2021 Author Share #53 Posted June 11, 2021 Thanks to all for responding. Keep an eye out for possible sale of medal. What medals I have in my USAF collecting, I may be selling in future since I mainly collect early USAF patches and aviation.
