USMC Pistol Belt

I have an updated USMC khaki pistol belt & if it only said US I'd call it good but Marine items I'd rather have verified before picking it up.

 

Can it be dated by the snap maker?

Your belt was made by the Russel Manufacturing Company in 1939. That was the only year exterior-marked USMC pistol belts were produced, making them quite rare. Really nice find. 
 

Here’s mine. The pictures aren’t the best, but you can kind of make out “RM Co 1939” above the Carr snap.
