Story Posted June 2, 2021 Share #1 Posted June 2, 2021 So I finally got around to taking some things off a top shelf and cleaning the dust off of them. Both shell and case were together when I rescued them from the Ignorant. No markings on the case - anyone have input on that? More than you'll ever want to know about the USN 1 Pounder http://www.navweaps.com/Weapons/WNUS_1pounder_m1.php Related thread https://www.usmilitariaforum.com/forums/index.php?/topic/350485-us-navy-1-pounder-shell/
Brian Keith Posted June 2, 2021 Share #2 Posted June 2, 2021 I don't think the projectile and case match, notice the profile shot-the rotating band projects way past the neck of the shell. The case may be a 37mm. Just guessing, but it just doesn't look correct. BKW
Story Posted June 2, 2021 Author Share #3 Posted June 2, 2021 I saw the same swell as you're seeing, yet the case matches the dimensions for the 1 PDR (37mm) USN round.
Story Posted June 2, 2021 Author Share #4 Posted June 2, 2021 The Driggs-Schroeder was one gun that used this round. So who out there bought this example? https://www.vallejogallery.com/item.php?id=2658&
