suwanneetrader Posted June 1, 2021 Share #1 Posted June 1, 2021 This 1 1/8 inch with 5 point stars Hard rubber or plastic and no backmark, has a white background. It looks to have been on it for a while. My questions are: Period of use determination I can not tell difference from WWII thru modern.if black plastic and no mfg. markings. Sellers refer to 6 point stars and 5 point stars What is significance? My main question Is it likely the Marine could have gotten away with this white background? I don't think so. What could have been the reason this was done? Thanks Richard

suwanneetrader Posted June 22, 2021 Author Share #3 Posted June 22, 2021 Thought I'd bump this. Has anyone ever had a white background EGA like this? Richard
themick Posted June 22, 2021 Share #4 Posted June 22, 2021 It's a WWII enlisted button. As to why it's painted white, there is no military purpose for that. My guess someone maybe made a costume later on out of the uniform, or at least the buttons and painted it white. Steve
