WW2 Tank Box?

I was told this is a metal box used on a WW2 tank. Any thoughts? Many thanks

No thoughts but an interesting box in any event. The loop and hook (or whatever) on the rear (I'd guess)  seem to be attachment points.

Anything used inside of a tank is painted white. Some it's for outside usage, like maybe a half track or artillery piece. Any drawing numbers stamped on it?

No, he didn;t know. He said that the gent he obtained it from said it was for a tank and was situated on the outside of the vehicle.
