New Romantic Posted February 2, 2009 Share #1 Posted February 2, 2009 Check out this item on eBay http://cgi.ebay.com/WWI-MILLS-M1910-1ST-AI...A1%7C240%3A1318 This appears to be a diagnosis tag pouch, not a 1st aid pouch as it is listed. Note the rimmed eagle snaps and 1916 date, first time I've seen a diagnosis tag pouch that early with the eagle snaps.

New Romantic Posted February 2, 2009 Author Share #3 Posted February 2, 2009 Rear of pouch. Note the heavy weave of canvas vs. the finer weave of 1st aid pouches from the period.
Keystone Posted February 2, 2009 Share #4 Posted February 2, 2009 I think AGM had one on their web site a few years ago. Might be the same one.

37thguy Posted February 3, 2009 Share #6 Posted February 3, 2009 I think this used to be mine at one time. It's only slightly larger than a 1st aid pouch, and I think I got over $150 20 years ago for it. They are ULTRA RARE!

I've never seen one of those before. 37th, can you tell us anything else about it? For comparison, here is my Mills M-1917 patient records pouch. New Romantic Posted February 3, 2009 Author Share #8 Posted February 3, 2009 I think AGM had one on their web site a few years ago. Might be the same one. I can't recall that one from AGM. I do remember a recent 1917 dated pouch with clipped corner flap but with Carr snaps.
atb Posted February 10, 2009 Share #9 Posted February 10, 2009 It sold for $500.00. Can we expect more of these early ones to see the light of day?
MattOravik Posted February 11, 2009 Share #10 Posted February 11, 2009 That pouch is awesome, I was bidding on it to. I always wondered if they made 1st aid pouches with eagle snaps and I guess they did. -Matt.

I always wondered if they made 1st aid pouches with eagle snaps and I guess they did. -Matt. 1st Aid Pouches were never made with eagle snaps- plain glove snaps were used from 1904-1915, and the Carr snaps from 1916- 1942. The pouch in the auction was a diagnosis tag pouch.
