d4671 Posted May 14, 2021 Share #1 Posted May 14, 2021 Can not find a description of this USAF Fire Protection patch. This patch has only two bugles. I can find all the other Fire Protection patches with more bugles but not two. Any help is appreciated.
QED4 Posted May 14, 2021 Share #2 Posted May 14, 2021 I found two crossed bugles listed as Crew Chief but it was from someone trying to sell one so not a for sure answer.

itshistory Posted May 16, 2021 Share #4 Posted May 16, 2021 In the typical fire department sense, two bugles means Captain. A single bugle would be a Lieutenant and three or more bugles would indicate a Chief officer. Variations are not unknown and it's largely how that particular organization (department) denotes it's hierarchy. The one, two and three are the simplest hierarchy dating back many years. In the modern sense other "steps" like a Battalion Chief and Assistant Chief have been added. IH
