USMC / 1st Marine Aircraft Wing (1st MAW), "Vietnam". Japanese-made Zaima Cord. Googling suggests that a whole batch of these lighters were once produced. Any ideas about dating?

1st MAW in-theater 1962-1975. Late '60s to early '70s due to it being a butane. Nice and grungy! I like it!

USMC // Combined Action Program / 2d Combined Action Group, Quang Nam Province, RVN. XO MAJ Robert Ovens Broad, Jr, USMC (1933-1993, interred at Arlington). Japanese-made "Vulcan" lighter and Japanese-made unbranded personalized combo money clip. (**Note the misspelled "Man" on the lighter)

USMC / Marine Attack Squadron 224 (VMA-224) "Fighting Bengals". MCAS Cherry Point, NC (Deployed to MCAS Iwakuni, Japan Oct-Dec 1957). A4D-2 & A4D-2N "Skyhawk". **Thanks to "Mr. Bushido" on the WMF for confirming that the katakana characters on the reverse are the owner's name. Japanese-made "Prince".

LTC Willard C. Lemke, USMC was CO of VMA-323 Nov'52-Jan'53. The lighter and box are in my collection. Cadet and headstone photos courtesy of findagrave.com. VMF-323 USS Sicily (CVE-118) photo is via the web.  COL Lemke is interred at Arlington. Rest in Peace.
