Another pick up.

This will be moving along soon as are many other items I recently acquired. ff9355197c48c8ef880f6591e9f7f754.jpg1f53ebe03167b89800c5bc28b0bd66f2.jpg14867d7b7f874f232aaeb18d81d11c13.jpg4e78eb6425f0922ea6fe2e94904a54c6.jpg38b63987a04ca29770a6425fddf7e890.jpgd18dc1950baaa2141244f4f2b38caed0.jpg0b7cd4ead4b961332c6c402f22635063.jpgb6af6ea5f7d13bffbd0813eec4fb2d89.jpg67a8aaebd64b92866a082b18d7a8a338.jpg10a4e07747a292e5d2db17cce22e8b80.jpg8ea5bc1299aed8072278075c27b4d5c2.jpgd45c6906d4ee3995882ca7bdb4586b90.jpg6bce0c9060cb6892cc67d2389d8318e8.jpgae7c23a2442ea8618d0acdfa4a3b4727.jpg492a442ed2db4ec1aa6db08ea4567f05.jpg9f38c1ddf52d680ced68ce8a93842a83.jpga92cd70139ab051c0cfbb9ce4c071d80.jpg1c22a811ae880f742234c53f03e40545.jpg

Never seen a tar bucket with a bullion insignia.

Very nice.

Interesting, but I don't believe the shako would have ever been worn with that bullion patch, at least not by regulation.  It looks like someone placed a blazer patch on the shako for some reason, possibly for display after graduation.  Same thing with the red plume.  Come to think of it, I wonder if it was used as part of some humorous tradition at West Point?  We've got to have some West Pointers on the forum who could shed some light on this.

Would you mind if I move this to the 'Military Education & Training' board? This is very interesting item and you posted very nice pictures!

Agree, very odd.  I have never seen that bullion crest on a hat nor have I seen a red plume.

The class crest is worn on the blazer.
