BILL THE PATCH

Happened on this today, not planned at all, had to get tickets and tickets were sold out for the day. But did walk around a heroes walk and found some ordnance to look at. Come to find out they had some kind of reinactment behind the museum. Look like a decent museum, I might go back, there are thousands of plaques on these walls, eb7d936609dbc2ac6e941a5d78364d4e.jpgcbc3b67e9c448d2f6667aa2d16db4372.jpg7300eac8736015f29bde3f196e67f937.jpg22ec45cbf70f3ea9c017a40519e5f913.jpg82eb61c1dfe8cb596578a8f7d604e4e1.jpgdf32265d9bae0859059210526f96b3ea.jpge54186b386a2f404b69a2ce16f32f1e6.jpgc7a403533eb73faae04043f90a6b3715.jpg

Worth the trip to go inside.  Midget sub from Pearl Harbor attack inside and some very good displays.  Down the street is another free area at 508 E Austin St, Fredericksburg, TX 78624 is the Pacific Combat Zone with a PT Boat, Avenger, and a outdoor battlefield scene.  If you do go and get a ticket, on the main street in the old hotel is a small area with Nimitz's history and some of his personal items.

That's what I missed the combat zone, I did read about the Nimitz family, he lived to listen to stories from his grandfather who was a German merchant marine in the 1800's
