labelkills254 Posted May 6, 2021 Share #1 Posted May 6, 2021 Here is a beautiful grouping from COL(Ret) Richard S. Kent, a 1962 USMA graduate who spent 3 tours in Vietnam. 1x tour as an Infantry PL, 1x as a Company Commander and 1x as an advisor to the ARVN. He was awarded 2x Silver Stars, 3x Bronze Star with Valor, 2x purple hearts, 1x Air Medal and a ARVN Gallantry Cross. He retired a COL in the late 1980s as the defense attache to Burma/Myanmar. COL Kent passed away in 2019 and I was fortunate to purchase this grouping directly from his family.

collectsmedals Posted May 7, 2021 Share #8 Posted May 7, 2021 Fantastic group! I love the cavalry hat! A neighbor's son is in the 1st Cavalry Division and he wears one. I only learned recently they still wore them as part of their uniform.

Thank you, I'm still in touch with his family and have his biography documenting his service. The large red and green ribbon is from the 4th Infantry Regiment. I served with 2-4 IN 3/10 MTN so it has a nice connection to my career.

labelkills254 Posted May 23, 2021 Author Share #13 Posted May 23, 2021 My pleasure, the ribbons were worn on the epaulets instead of DUIs.

I especially like the West Point connection since several of my family members are graduates.
