Question About WWII Official Photos

I was pursuing eBay this morning and saw a photo I thought about bidding on, but did not, because I don’t know enough about WWII official photos to know if they are original, rare, reprints, faked, etc.  Below is the photo I thought about bidding on.  It went for $260, which I don’t know if that was a reasonable price.  So, in the event that I run across one these photos in the future, are they collectible?

The photo looks correct to me as a period piece.

The photo depicts photographer Joe Rosenthal, photographer of the famous flag raising on Iwo Jima, I'm not surprised it brought so much.

The cost will vary based on subject matter. Not surprised someone was willing to pay for this subject.

Remember many of this type of photo was for public relations, sent to newspapers and magazines. There were probably hundreds or thousands printed, though how many survived is the question. I think the purple mimeo print on the back would be harder than most takers would be willing to go, but just a guess.

I collect USN official photos and most sell for $5-$25 in my niche.
