albatrosdva Posted May 5, 2021 Share #1 Posted May 5, 2021 I got this really cool cloth wall display for an unidentified radioman in the Air Service. It says he served in China, Japan, Siberia, and Hawaii. I assume this service would start with the Siberian Intervention and continue into the 1920s (especially since he is shown in the last photo in a 91st Squadron marked JN-4 which would have to be post war). Cool piece of aviation and radio history. Wish I could get it identified but the locations are so obscure I don't even know where to start on this one. It's crazy to see how much the purple cloth has faded over the years. The silk thread has kept it's colors nicely. I honestly think I like it better this way than had it not faded. It seems like the original, so dark, would have blended in with the flags.
