I inherited this helmet from my grand father, he served in WWII and the Korean War. I do not see any marking on it so there was not so much for me to go by in finding out what kind of helmet it is. Any help in identifying it would be greatly appreciated.

M1 Helmet, black painted hardware on the chinstrap makes it post-korean war. Most likely 1960's era. looks to be mint, likely never saw any action/military service besides sitting in a warehouse. It was common for M1 Helmets to be sold as surplus and mail ordered, i'm guessing that is how your grandfather acquired it.

Since this has been ID'd, I've moved this to the helmet board for further discussion!
