RDUNE Posted May 4, 2021 Share #1 Posted May 4, 2021 Hello all, I just picked up this group yesterday and am very humbled to be the caretaker. This was purchased by a friend of mine at a local flea market. It is from two brothers, one of which was lost over Romania with the 727th Bomb Squadron, the other served as an Alamo Scout in the Pacific. Joe and Robert were both from Florida and lost their father to a heart attack at the beginning of the war. Joe had attended the University of Florida but I'm still a little unclear on whether he graduated prior to the war. Robert was married and that appears to have been an issue for him. AWOL related to marriage is mentioned in a document in the group. I'm still working my way through the paperwork and hope to have a clearer picture of both men and their service soon.
