Hi, I was wondering if anyone knows anything about the 33rd NCB on Peleliu. Specifically what beach they landed on and what their main job would have been on the island. My great uncle went in with them first wave. Apparently everyone in his group (some I'm assuming his transport ship) got killed. He only survived because he stayed back on a floating barrel in the water.

Thank you, it seems he might've been at orange Beach since that is mentioned in the book a few times

There are a bunch of photos in the back, maybe your great uncle is in one of them.

edit... ok that’s the same link as already posted 😬

The WW2 Museum has  a LARGE portion of NCB cruise books available digitally in PDF.

You can find them here... https://www.history.navy.mil/content/history/museums/seabee/explore/wwii-cruisebooks.html

Here is the 33rd’s “cruisebook”
