After being picked through by family, friends, Selfridge museum and an estate sale company this is what I dug out.

He was stationed in Korea, Morocco and Saudi Arabia from 1972 to 1984 when he had to retire due to medical issues.

That is pretty neat, my brother is a firstie in B-2 at West Point. I have a couple of those bulldog patches myself.

What year did your brother graduate?

My brother in law was the class of 1982.

All the name tags were removed from his jackets but one.

These Tiger stripes were in the group.

There were 3 sets and sold the most faded to the neighbor for 30.00.

I was told that there are pictures of him in Morocco wearing them.

If that is the case he must have bought them privately and figured he could get away with it.

There are a bunch more camouflaged jackets and pants.

He was over 6’ tall so everything is big size.

He hasn't yet, he is a firstie so it is his last year as a cadet. I will be at West Point in about two weeks to see him graduate and then he will be off to the 10th Mt Division.

Good for him.

My sister was married at West Point.

The tigers are nonsense

It just puzzles me.

I found unpacked 4 military trunks of uniforms and equipment that hadn’t been touched since his retirement and these hunting clothes were right in there with them.

There was nothing else hunting related in the entire house.

While they might be non-sense for a collector of original VN tiger stripe uniforms for hunters there is a nostalgic quality to them and an entire collecting area all to itself since they were influenced heavily by their original counterparts.

Respect to this man and his service.

This could go back and forth all day long.

It’s just too easy and nothing about respect or the officers service but nice try tugging at the heart strings.

Op wanted them to be real so he could get more money out of the group when he flips it as he’s a dealer.

I doubt it would make any difference either way for various reasons.

Finding 3 sets the way they were was very coincidental.

Owen I appreciate your participation and I have no reason to disagree with you.

So basically if those hunting suites are taken out it won’t hurt the integrity of the military group?

  • 2 weeks later...

Here's a theory on the tigers.

As a representative of General Dynamics,  it appears in his civilian career he visited a number of African nations.  He may have bought the tigers to wear on field visits to customer nations.  It would not surprise me at all.

The Moroccan web belt and badged hat are really eye catching!

They could be Egyptian too.
