Indexred Posted May 2, 2021 Share #1 Posted May 2, 2021 The engraving on this PH looks like small machine engraving, but is it really PQMD engraving? I’d never seen the recipient’s rank and date of death added to the inscription. Has anyone else seen this on a U.S. Army PH?
tarbridge Posted May 2, 2021 Share #2 Posted May 2, 2021 Unfortunately...a well known group of fake engraved medals that came from the Florida area. The medals follow this format of dates and mentions "KIA", they are fraudulent with the intention of deceiving potential owners. Nothing concerning the engraving is officially done nor even a "private style. Regards Robert
Indexred Posted May 2, 2021 Author Share #3 Posted May 2, 2021 Thanks Robert. I was hoping that you or Dave S would see this post. Glad to know I was right to be suspicious. It seems we can add the William R. Crawford Purple Heart to the list of fakes. Did the forger create any with just recipient names?

Indexred Posted May 2, 2021 Author Share #5 Posted May 2, 2021 Thanks Dave. I added a picture of Crawford's PH to JBFloyd's original post from 2009.
