douglas Posted April 30, 2021 Share #1 Posted April 30, 2021 Here is a flag that I got from Manions Auction in the 1980's. I recently started to research the names, thanks to the internet (NARA and Ancestry) and found many of the 25 names, including the commander of the 434th Armored Field Artillery Battalion, Lt. Col. Dubuisson, a 1940 graduate of West Point. Also, his executive officer Major William FLuke. And, Battery C, Capt. Robert Fitzsimmons. So far, I have not been able to find a roster list of names for the 504th, to confirm the names are authentic. Also, I have tried to find a spot in history where the 504th PIR and the 434th FA would have met. One possibility could be somewhere during the Battle of the Bulge, maybe somewhere around St. Vith?? Anyway, getting this flag out of the back of the closet and finally doing some research has been a fun project.
