The VMI cadets of 1915

I hope you all don't mind my posting an interesting old yearbook. Granted it has seen better days (water damage) but what I think really sets it apart is the large majority of the senior class (at least those with photos) autographed their photos. It being a military school prior to US involvement in WWI it can be no surprise that most of the cadets went on to be officers in the Great War, some with rather interesting histories. I thought I would share that here. I will post photos and a brief history (if I could find anything) in separate comments.

Edward M "Ned" Almond: (undoubtedly some of you all have heard of this one)

WWI: 12th Machine Gun Battalion 4th Division, wounded in the Meuse-Argonne and received a Silver Star

WWII: Brig General Almond commanded the 92nd Division (African American)

Korean War: promoted to Lt General, Almond was in command of the X Corp and was largely to blame for the Marine plight at Chosen Resevoir due to his over-aggressive leadership
