Military knife?

This is in a box of WWII machettes,,,brown rubber grip, checkered pattern, worn smooth on one side, no markings that I see...

in the local AN store, and wanting to know if I should go back...

I believe that more than one company made some knives like this prior to WW2.  As I recall Cattaraugus Cutlery was one of them.

Did not ask price as it is a storage area ...He gives me free reign to dig....most likely 20-30 ....

 

A civilian knife with possible military use?..

 

The machettes had USN MK2 scabbards/sheaths...
