Albert Posted April 22, 2021 Share #1 Posted April 22, 2021 This little lot has been in the family of a fiend since WWII. It is an interesting little grouping of what, at first glance, looks like random pick up. However, the badges, and possibly the hat device, were probably picked up all at once, and probably liberated from a store. Why? Those items are all late war, the shield and the hat device were never mounted, and the three badges are all made by Rudolf Souval of Vienna. A couple of buttons were also there, and everything came in that cigarette tin.
Edelweisse Posted April 22, 2021 Share #2 Posted April 22, 2021 “Hat device”...winged wheel is actually a part of a railroad collar tab. Nice small group.
Reforger Posted April 22, 2021 Share #3 Posted April 22, 2021 That is an interesting group. With all the fakes out there it is always great to see attributed originals. I've seen badges, medals, insignia before that were obviously never issued and brought home by US soldiers. They picked up what they could.
