VC Crude 1911 Bring Back from Nam by 25th Division Soldier

I recently acquired this interesting VC crudely made copy of a 1911. It was captured by a soldier of the 25th Division 2nd Battalion 49th Infantry regiment on May, 29 1967. No associated paperwork came with it. Photos courtesy of (Trainmaker 1 on GB). Looks like some battle damage near the magazine well.

I am tacking this on as related info. It's a WW2 .45 ammo can made under contract in Formosa for the Chinese fighting the Japanese during WW2. The Chinese supplied the NVA this ammo during the Vietnam war. This was a vet bring back and is the only one I have seen. The vet used it to store papers.

I too posted a captured “jungle-made” 1911.  They are unique & deadly works of art.  The vet actually wore it for part of his tour.
