Model1916 Holster Question

I just acquired this holster and was curious about the markings. It is stamped as a Boyt M.S.. The placement is on the lower right of the belt slit section. The examples that I could find were similar font style but much thicker and deeply struck. Do the stampings on my holster seem legit or added later?

Your holster is a legitimate example of the M1916 that was produced for WW1.

Thank you for your answer. Do you know of any instances of ww1 holsters  having steel hangers or do you think it’s more than likely a replacement sometime in its long life?

I am not aware of the use of steel M1910 type hangers on USGI M1916 holsters made during WW1.  Thus, it would seem likely that your example has a replacement hanger.  Close examination of the leather piece surrounding the hanger often reveals unusual wear patterns or markings indicative of a replacement.

I didn't see anything out of the ordinary about the leather, but the hanger seems to me a little out of shape when compared to other hangers I have. Thank you for your help.
