Uncle Harold and the rest of the crew on the B-24 were shot down during a raid on Kiska, 15 April 1943. The plane fell in flames 10,000 feet and crashed into the Harbour, off of North Head. All on board were lost and never recovered.

Working on finding and contacting family of each boy (I've been able to for 9 of the 11) really makes each casualty seem real. A short reference in a report or just a casualty listing of a plane and crew . . . how it impacted so many people.

I like to put my 11 flags and crosses and sign out along the road , but since it is rainy/snowy . . . I couldn't this year! They all have Find A Grave memorials (which are linked at pacificwrecks) if anyone would like to leave flowers!

Hats off to you for keeping the memory of these heroes alive. Hope you are able to contact the remaining 2 families.
