Timberwolf Posted April 15, 2021 Share #1 Posted April 15, 2021 Recently acquired the uniform group of Capt J. Walter Gardner of “C” Battery 379th AAA AW Bn. He started off as a prewar enlisted man, and went to AAA OCS earning a commission. He was stationed stateside in Baytown, Texas guarding oil refineries there. He was later sent to the ETO and did a bit of occupation duty there. I was able to try and keep as much as I could of this group together from the vets daughter who was parting it out. There were some cool booklets about Japanese small arms and aircraft, looks like they were worried about a Japanese invasion initially! Looks like he was also stationed near the Soviets during the occupation.
