Albert Posted April 13, 2021 Share #1 Posted April 13, 2021 Dear All, The left patch with the black border is clearly a German made piece. Looking at the green border patch on the right, I want to say it is US made. What's your opinion? Thank You!!

mikie Posted April 13, 2021 Share #4 Posted April 13, 2021 My dad was a WWII 27th Inf Div veteran. So I'm always interested in seeing items from this unit. When would the German made patch have been produced? Since they were in the Pacific in WWII, would this be a WWI occupation piece? Mikie
Albert Posted April 13, 2021 Author Share #5 Posted April 13, 2021 Those were made post WWII. There was no comparable occupation of Germany post WWI.

Many GIs remained in the service after the war and were stationed all over. That's why there are Japanese made patches for units that served in the ETO and related theaters in that part of the world.
