Very Rare KW Operation Firefly Patch

Was not familiar with this patch when I saw it listed on Ebay. After some research found good information of all places in the forum, which was the easiest and best source to give one a quick study on the unit. The original post was in the Air Force section in 2015 and refer members back to those posts. Think more eyes would see it here in this section and inform more members.

The short story to quote Scotty is simply this" this is incredibly rare" and if Scotty says it is rare that is saying something. Another case where knowledge is king. Auction ended with only 6 bids and ended in low $200's. It is a large back jacket patch and the first one posted in 2015 was also a back jacket patch but in bullion. You can teach an old dog.

Is this a different Operation Firefly than my grandfather participated in upon returning from North Africa and Italy where he flew the triple Nickels as smoke jumpers in Oregon and Washington?

Never mind. I found it. A flare dropping mission to deprive the enemy the cover of darkness. Makes sense now.
