mb399579 Posted August 7, 2021 Author #4 Posted August 7, 2021 Hello, The generator is arrived at home. After a little cleaning, it looks better ! Unfortunately, there is no date on the data plates. I'm still looking for information about its uses ! Thanks in advance. Bertrand
SGM (ret.) Posted May 17 #5 Posted May 17 The serial number, 474629, puts production of the engine in the 1943-45 range (serial numbers roll over to 500K in 1946 and ran to 300K ending in 1942). The "D" suffix on the model AK indicates that the engine was equipped with a "stellite" exhaust valve (a high-performance alloy exhaust valve for extreme duty conditions). It seems like many parts are still available for these engines. Pitt Auto Parts Catalog for Wisconsin Motors Models AA, AB, and AK Hope you got it running and working!

Do you know what these generator was used for ? Bertrand They used them to power lights radios etc... They would dig a hole several feet deep and run them down in the hole. Its a little harder to pinpoint where the noise is coming from that way and protects them from Shrapnel. Ground bursts.
mb399579 Posted June 10 Author #8 Posted June 10 Hello, Thank you for your response, but I am familiar with the general purpose of a generator. I would like to know which unit this E-1500 generator was assigned to and what its specific purpose was. Bertrand

I honestly have no idea how you would find that kind of info on the generator? I seriously doubt that there are any supply records left any where that could pinpoint what unit it was issued to? It could have been in service with several different units....? And which ever unit or units it went through... it was used in a manner that you already can ascertain how it was used. Good luck.
robinb Posted Saturday at 04:35 AM #10 Posted Saturday at 04:35 AM You will have to find a copy of the Engineer Supply Catalog, ENG 3 or ENG 5.
