Korean War Paratrooper Helmet w/ Stripe, Rigger Modified Liner

Here's a recent pick up of mine that I'm excited to share. I believe the rigger modified liners are attributed to the Korean War period (1947-1951 approximately). This helmet just has a nice worn look to it. Shell is named to a Robert E French who enlisted in 1946. Any ideas on what the stripe marking could indicate? I'm thinking something to do with training?

I couldn’t find any more info on the forum, I think I looked at this on B&B Militaria website. The black stripe makes me think of a Mohawk. Very cool.
