yp221 Posted April 10, 2021 Share #4 Posted April 10, 2021 The face mask was produced in 1940 and originally assembled in the M2A1 gas mask configuration with the rectangular box style cannister. At some point, the rectangular cannister was removed and the cylindrical one installed to make it M3 configuration. I'm not sure if they reused face pieces from earlier models to speed up M3 production during the war, or if it was something done later. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
