easterneagle87 Posted March 31, 2021 Share #1 Posted March 31, 2021 Picked this up today while I was out scrounging around. Labelled as WW2, but I don't think so. It is printed on modern Kodak paper from a local camera shop. Says the photo was copied in 2010. I still think it's later than WW2. What are these subs? Salvage Sailor Posted March 31, 2021 Share #2 Posted March 31, 2021 They're "Guppy" submarines. The inboard and outboard boats look like TENCH class after their "Guppy" conversion (note the rounded bows and domes. The center boat has not yet been converted. The photo dates from the mid-1950's. (Also note the 1950's Chevy on the pier) If you can manage to zoom in on the brows (the walkways from the piers to the boat quarterdecks) you'll see the names of the submarines on the grommeted side covers. There ya go.....
