I got this WW1 Brodie helmet that I believe is a British or Australian. It has a heat stamp that reads, HS- 286 and another writing reading, EE. Busha FH, 34. I believe this is a name but I could be wrong. If anyone has any more information or knows what this means or what year or country this is from, please let me know.

Shipley Thomas lists the 34th Field Hospital as a component of the Division's 7th Sanitary Train, so that could be the FH 34.

But are sure because this one does not have a hour glass and it has 2 red circles on both sides.

Now that I look closer yes I see it but it’s starting to fade. I also looked at some picture of the 7th infantry divisions and they had the hourglass on the front of the helmets and this one has it on the sides.

The first photo of the insignia has traces of the hourglass.  I have 7th Division helmets with an insignia on the front, on the front and rear, and both sides.  I might have one with an insignia just on one side but I can't recall off the top of my head.

Exactly right....34th Field Hospital; and there is a faint hourglass on at least one of the circles.

Semi-unusual to have the 7th Div painted on the sides instead of the front of the helmet, but that's the way the vet chose to have it done, apparently.

Too bad is was abused for a few decades.

So I was looking around. Found this in reference to your HS mark?

One of the British suppliers.

HS = Hadfield Ltd Jan. 1916 – 1919

Just did a quick look and there was an Wagoner Edward E. Busha from Detroit listed on the passenger rosters for the 34th Field Hospital.

And one more thing, how did you find out who and where Wagnor Edward E Busha is? I would really like to know how to find things like that.

In your second photo I do see what looks like the top black triangle. Anyone else see that?
