Thrifter_01 Posted March 30, 2021 Share #1 Posted March 30, 2021 Having originally bought the photo book for photos of old San Antonio, I was surprised to find that within the photos of family and buildings, there were photos of the 3rd Pursuit Squadrons time during their training in the Philippines. As well, there were photos of Randolph Field in 1933. First, a photo of the man who saved the pictures in 1926. Now for the Philippines photos. Here are photos that are not marked, but maybe in the same country. Here are other photos that aren't taken in the Philippines, that are from Randolph Field \ Saved the best for last
bbmilitaria Posted March 30, 2021 Share #2 Posted March 30, 2021 Great album. Got to love the early Philippine flight connection.
3mxd Posted March 31, 2021 Share #3 Posted March 31, 2021 Do you know the identity of the original owner identified as "me" in the photos?
Thrifter_01 Posted March 31, 2021 Author Share #4 Posted March 31, 2021 Unfortunately I do not, but there's a few other names in the album that are related to the vet, hopefully that will bear fruit with enough research.
3mxd Posted April 1, 2021 Share #5 Posted April 1, 2021 I'm fairly certain that the man in the photos is Louis V. McKenney. I've attached a copy of a photo taken of him 1947. I've got his WW II medals, just use the Forum "search" with his last name, it will bring you to the USMF thread which has the images of the medals. I have a copy of all his service records and his career matches the dates/places in the album. Please email me at [email protected]. I'd like to discuss this further if you're interested. Kind regards, Pat McGovern
