thorin6 Posted March 28, 2021 Share #3 Posted March 28, 2021 Nice catch. Has yours been refinished or is it just the lighting? Mine has a deep blue finish and definitely shows it's age.
Scottz63 Posted March 29, 2021 Share #4 Posted March 29, 2021 It has been parkerized at some point in it's life. Fine with me though. I'm a sucker for parked U.S. Military guns.
varifleman Posted March 29, 2021 Author Share #5 Posted March 29, 2021 Perhaps Parkerized by the Manila Ordnance Depot since almost all the Colt Army 1909s were shipped to the Philippines and remained there throughout their service life.

varifleman Posted April 26, 2021 Author Share #9 Posted April 26, 2021 Among the boxes of Frankford Arsenal issue ammo was this box of 20 blanks dated May 23 1914. The latest dated live ammo boxes are dated January and May 1914.
varifleman Posted May 23, 2021 Author Share #10 Posted May 23, 2021 Took the revolver out to a friend's range yesterday and shot some 40 rounds and the old Warhorse performed flawlessly and was spot on every time. Since this range has only metal targets no photos but next time will have photos of paper targets at another range. Used this modern factory loaded 45 LC ammo. Brian Keith Posted May 23, 2021 Share #11 Posted May 23, 2021 Nice that she gets a bit of exercise, I'm sure that was a very satisfying "Ping" on the steel targets! Thanks for posting. Now you will have to get a second job to be able to afford more ammunition! (Just a joke!) BKW
